Pentans are five degree divisions of the Zodiac. Each five degree section is a sign of the Zodiac, like an inner theme. In Pentans the whole Zodiac fits within two signs or sixty degrees.

The Spring and Summer signs fit into the masculine Zodiac Pentan signs, and the Fall and Winter signs fit into the feminine Zodiac Pentan signs. The divisions between the main Zodiac signs correspond to the Equinoxes in the Pentans. Fifteen degrees of the masculine signs correspond to the Pentan Summer Solstice. Fifteen degrees of the feminine signs correspond to the Pentan Winter Solstice.

0° to 5° of each masculine sign has the Pentan of Aries, 5° to 10° of each masculine sign has the Pentan of Taurus. 10° to 15° of each masculine sign has the Pentan of Gemini, 15° to 20° of each masculine sign has the Pentan of Cancer. 20° to 25° of each masculine sign has the Pentan of Leo, 25° to 30° of each masculine sign has the Pentan of Virgo.
0° to 5° of each feminine sign has the Pentan of Libra, 5° to 10° of each feminine sign has the Pentan of Scorpio. 10° to 15° of each feminine sign has the Pentan of Sagittarius, 15° to 20° of each feminine sign has the Pentan of Capricorn. 20° to 25° of each feminine sign has the Pentan of Aquarius, 25° to 30° of each feminine sign has the Pentan of Pisces.
Pentans are easy to memorize and use and they are observable.
In Pentans the Zodiac repeats itself six times around the 360 degree zodiac wheel.
Of course, within each 12 signs, or cycle of the zodiac there are 64 hexagrams.
On the hexagram level, for each line of a hexagram there is a pentan hexagram. This adds significant meaning to each line of the hexagram.
